Kazu's Class

This has been a very confusing semester.I have to say that I considere myself incredibly lucky to have taken "Figure Painting in Acrylics" with my teacher Kazu Sano. He has been a source of inspiration and I considere his as one of the most enlightening classes I have taken. And I'm not saying it just to say something nice. To anyone else, someone more talented or more confidente, it could seem like a little thing, but I feel like I have gone such a long way since the first day of class. I have dared to experiment with colors and some textures, enough to feel confortable with acrylics. Every time I say that I'm afraid it might sound terribly dull, but to me it means the world. Kazu will be missed even by someone like me, who only knew him for a couple of months.

Este ha sido un semestremuy confuso. Tengo que decir que me considero increíblemente afortunada por haber tomado "Dibujo de la Figura en Acrílico" con mi profesor Kazu Sano. Él ha sido una fuente de inspiración para mi y considero su clase como una de las más esclarecedoras que he tomado nunca. Y no lo digo sólo por decir algo bonito. Para cualquier otra persona, alguien con más talento o más confianza en sí mismo, podría parecer una pequeñez, pero yo siento que he avanzado muchísimo desde el primer día de clase. Me he atrevido a experimentas con colores y texturas, lo suficiente como para sentirme cómoda utilizando acrílicos. Cada vez que digo eso tengo la impresión de que suena increíblemente aburrido, pero para mí significa muchísimo. Kazu será extrañado, hasta por alguien como yo, quien sólo le conoció durante un par de meses.

Sad colors ------ Colores tristes

This semester has been a bit of a disaster. I haven't produced anything that I like, other than the crocodiles from the previous post. Nonetheless, here is my work fro Children's Books Illustration class. The first two are scenes from Aesop's "The Lion and the Mouse", the other tree are illustration for Rapunzel. My colors got so sad... I'm afraid the way I felt about the semester was bleeding through :S

Este semestre ha sido un desastre. No he producido nada que me guste, más que los cocodrilos del post anterior. Igualmente, aquí pongo mi trabajo para la clase de Ilustración de Cuentos Infantiles. Las primeras dos son escenas de "El León y el Ratón" de Esopo, y el resto son ilustraciones para Rapunzel. Los colores se volvieron tan tristes... me temo que lo que siento hacia el semestre se ha reflejado en mi trabajo :S
